Proof that you can do the job to the national standard. You earn it by passing a competency assessment in a qualification that has TESDA Training Regulations.

Who can apply

  • You have the skills of the qualification, from training or from work experience.
  • The qualification has promulgated TESDA Training Regulations.
  • Passing every unit of competency earns the NC. Passing some units earns a Certificate of Competency (COC), and COCs can be added up to a full NC.

  7. 7

    Claim your certificate

    You

Claim your NC or COC about seven working days later. Bring your CARS, the Official Receipt and a valid ID. Someone else can claim it with your Special Power of Attorney.

Good to know

  • Keep your NC valid. The expiry date is printed on the certificate, and you need a valid NC to train, to get an NTTC and to be accredited as an assessor.
  • Falsified or duplicated documents disqualify you from TESDA assessment and certification.

Based on TESDA CAR, Steps for applying for assessment and certification. TESDA offices may update their requirements, so confirm with the office before you submit.

Your NC or COC is valid for five years. Renew it at the office that issued it, with proof that you kept working in the qualification.
